Richard D. Schreiter, 63, of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 peacefully at his home with his loving wife, Sandra Miller-Schreiter, by his side. Dick was born on December 5, 1959, to the late Donald and Dorothy (Schilling) Schreiter. Numbers were a passion of Dick’s. He enjoyed working for Directions, Inc. for the majority of his career. Before retirement, Dick served as the Business Manager at his church, St. Therese Catholic Parish. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing games, cooking with a variety of ingredients, volunteering with charity organizations, and spending time in his faith. Most of all, Dick enjoyed spending time with, and supporting, his family, especially his three grandchildren.
Dick will be dearly missed by his wife Sandie, his sons Matthew (Jessica Pondell) Schreiter and Nicholas (Shaina Desotelle) Schreiter; his grandchildren: Jackson, Anna, and Ellie Schreiter; his siblings: Ellen Schreiter (friend, Jim Forbeck), Joan Bartman, Christine Kositzke, and Janice Panzer; his mother-in-law Janice Miller; his sister-in-law: Debra (Michael) Sieth; his nieces and nephews: Kathryn (Travis) Boegh, Anthony (Tracy Stephani) Bartman, Petra (Nicholas) Price, Johanna (Christoph) Paykowski, Gretchen Panzer, Matthew (Samantha) Sieth, and Adam (Bryn) Sieth; and ten great nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank Schreiter, and father-in-law Leland Miller.
There will be a time of visitation in Dick’s honor on Monday, July 3, 2023 at St. Therese Catholic Parish located at 213 E. Wisconsin Avenue in Appleton from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. with funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. A burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery located at 900 N. Ballard Road in Appleton. A heartfelt thank you from Dick’s family to all of his wonderful caregivers over the past few years, especially Kayla Vale and Kerry Wilda, and his physical therapist Dr. Kelly Ashbeck.
