Richard Remmel

Richard N. Remmel, 85, of Appleton, passed away on May 19, 2016. Richard was born on October 15, 1930, in Menasha, Wisconsin to Leslie and Marcella (Schmalz) Remmel. He was a graduate of Menasha High School. Richard worked in customer service and sales most of his career. He played drums in several local bands and is a former local president of the American Federation of Musicians. He especially loved big band music. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. He also enjoyed listening to his police scanner.
He will be sadly missed by his children: Christine MacDonald, Neenah; Daniel (Beverly) Remmel, Harrison; Cindy (Mike) De Witt, Menasha; Wendy Remmel, Menasha; Jennifer (Mike) Lambert, Little Chute, 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and his cat Sophie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one great-granddaughter.
There will be a visitation on Monday May 23, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Wichmann Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street in Menasha. A brief service of remembrance will follow immediately at 7:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Menasha.
