Richard “Dick” Rasmussen, age 74, went home to his Lord and Savior on August 15, 2022. Dick was a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife Debby (DeBruin) Rasmussen; children Melissa Rasmussen, Trevor (Meghan) Rasmussen, and Krista (Bill) Kurtzweil; grandchildren Sheldon and Ainsley Achs, Addison and Aaron Rasmussen, and Eliya, Logan, and Blake Kurtzweil; sister Debbie (Gary) Justus and brother David Rasmussen; and many other family members and friends.
Dick was born in Wausau on June 25, 1948, to the late Donald and Audrey (Kieckhoefer) Rasmussen. On May 3, 1975, he married the love of his life, Debby. He spent the first 24 years of his career working at Baur Truck and split the next 30 years at US Oil and Cornerstone. Dick cherished his family, was passionate about celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas together, having cookouts, attending as many grandchildren’s events as possible, and cheering enthusiastically for Wisconsin sports. When healthy, Dick was an avid golfer and loved traveling, especially somewhere warm.
In retirement, Dick enjoyed building model ships, hunting those pesky chipmunks in his yard, watching Game Show Network while eating a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup or two, and serving at Appleton Alliance Church by mowing and greeting,
Please join us for a Celebration of Life at Appleton Alliance Church at 11 AM on Saturday August 20, with a visitation two hours prior to the service from 9-11.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Operation Christmas Child or The Hope Clinic and Care Center in Menasha are preferred.
