Richard G. Janos

Richard G. Janos, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. He was born on July 27, 1949, in Milwaukee, to the late George and Marie Janos. Rick attended John Marshall High School in Milwaukee, and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin Stout with a master's degree in education. He married Irene Sunderlin in September of 1971 in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Rick and Irene first moved to Appleton when he accepted a job at Appleton East High School, where in 2006, he retired from after 30 years of teaching. He was a Corvette lover, and a loyal member of Valley Vettes. He was an avid golfer and loved traveling to warm destinations with Irene where he and Irene could spend time together on the golf course and the beach. Rick also enjoyed playing cards, boating and was an active member at Lake Park Swim and Fitness.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Irene Janos; siblings: Linda (Tom) King and Jerry (Silvia) Janos; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A gathering of friends for Rick will take place from 4:30 until 6:30 PM on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI COUNTY CHAPEL (1592 Oneida St. Menasha). In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
