Richard “Boz” Bousley, age 85, of Appleton, passed away on December 8, 2020. Richard was born on December 28, 1934 to the late Leo and Elsie (Barden) Bousley. He was a graduate of Wausau High School, Class of 1954. After graduation, he served his country honorably as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He married September 20, 1958 the former Lucille “Zookie” Salzman in Wausau.
He worked as a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker for 38 years. He worked with Overly Sheet Metal and stayed with them as they changed to Thermo-Electron. He was a member of the Local #18, Sheet Metal Workers Union. He retired on December 31, 1996. After he retired, Boz and Zookie moved to Townsend Wisconsin and spent retirement there.
Boz was a hard worker and loved to build things. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling. Anything to enjoy the outdoors. He was also an avid Packers and Brewers fan.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Lucille “Zookie” Bousley, children: Pam (Bryan) Polar of Appleton and Debbie (Randy) Schuh of Appleton, grandsons: Collin (Deidre) Polar, Nathan Schuh, and Alec Schuh, great grandchildren: Bryce and Teagan Polar, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son John Bousley, and 11 siblings.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Boz on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church, 213 E. Wisconsin Avenue in Appleton. There will be a visitation at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Interment with full military honors will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the care given to Boz.
