Richard A. Schmidt

Richard (Dick) Allen Schmidt, 91, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 with his wife Helen, and his son Rick at his side. He was born August 18, 1930, in Hilbert, Wisconsin, the son of Allen and Helen Schmidt. Dick received his Master’s Degree in Vocational Education from Stout State College. He was a teacher and educator at Fox Valley Technical College from 1966 to 1992. Prior to this, he was a journeyman machinist at the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company. Dick was united in marriage to Helen Dorothy Anhalt , at St. Mary and St. Michael Catholic Church in Clarks Mills, in the township of Cato. Dick will be remembered as an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. Most importantly, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather to his family.

Dick is survived by his wife: Helen, and children: Richard (Rick) A Schmidt, Terrance (Terry) A Schmidt, Mary L Rost, Helen (Tammie) Glomstead; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 9, at St. Thomas More, 1810 N McDonald St, Appleton, with Father Larry Seidl and Deacon Lincoln Wood officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am.
