Rhoda Marie Winder went to her heavenly home on January 1, 2019, with her family by her side. She served the Lord her entire life. She was born in Green Bay to Herbert and Lorraine Falck on February 26, 1942. She grew up in the Fox Valley, attended Fox Valley Lutheran High School, and earned her teaching degree from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. She began teaching at 19 years old and taught for over 30 years, taking time off to raise her 4 children. She served at St. Peter Lutheran in Freedom, St. Matthew Lutheran in Appleton, Bethany Lutheran in Saginaw, Michigan, and Riverview Lutheran in Appleton. In her retirement, she was a willing substitute whenever she was needed.
Rhoda married Craig Winder on October 29, 1972. She is survived by Craig and her four children: Taylor Winder, Missy (Peter) Wolfgramm, Troy (Marisa) Winder, and Travis (Jena) Winder; five grandchildren: Levi Wolfgramm (14), Noah Winder (9), Anna Winder (4), Grayson Winder (3), and Cole Winder (2); siblings: John (Carole) Falck, Karla Hutchinson, and Mark (Marnie) Falck; in-laws: Cathy (Dan) Harrington and Molly Winder, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Max Hutchinson, and mother-in-law and father-in-law Cecil and Mary Winder.
Rhoda was born to be a teacher, a mother, and a grandmother. Rhoda loved the Lord and her entire family. She left her family a priceless legacy of faith and love. Rhoda showed us how to trust in God and how to love without condition. We will miss her more than words can say and will honor her memory by sharing God’s love with everyone we can.
