SABEE, REINHARDT N.
Reinhardt Sabee, age 90, of Appleton, died Monday, January 3, 2005, at his home. Reinhardt was born on December 26, 1914, in Cloquet, Minnesota to the late Henry and Christina Sabee. He married Lois E. Haugh on May 31, 1940. He was the first graduate of Racine Washington Park High School in 1932 and was elected to the school’s Hall of Fame in 2002. Reinhardt was well-known for his many contributions to paper industry machine design. He founded companies to develop machinery to produce products based on the more than 100 patents in his name. While many of his machines were intricate, simplicity was all important. Reinhardt’s contribution to the paper industry included his ability to design simple, high speed converting machines, and his ability to build machines to produce non-woven fabrics used in his products for specialized hospital procedures, as well as consumer goods for home use and nursing home and hospital use. He was always a strong believer in teaching and sharing knowledge of production and machine design to build these products and the meticulous building of the production machines. He has passed his enthusiasm and knowledge to his children and grandchildren, who worked with him. In recognition of his many contributions, Reinhardt was elected to the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame in 1999. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lois; his children, Michael (Marian) Sabee, Neenah, Craig (Pam) Sabee, Appleton, and Sherry (Dennis) Donovan-Ahlman, Appleton; his grandchildren, Penelope Sabee, Pamela (Brian) McAvoy, Dwight Sabee, Eric Sabee, Ross Sabee, Ryan Sabee, Christina Sabee-Dintenfass, Josep h (Rhea) Donovan, Anthony (Connie) Donovan and Maria (Ian Anderson) Donovan; his sister, Bertha Reinhardt, Racine, and his former son-in-law, Joseph Donovan, Sr. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl and James. A memorial has been established in his name. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Reinhardt’s caregivers: Vicky Kaiser, Tammy Kopiske, Wilona Mitchell and Ericka Anderson. WHEN TOMMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME
When tomorrow starts without me and I am not here to see, if the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me. I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time you think of me I know you’ll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand.
