Age 83, passed away in Appleton on Saturday, February 21, 2004. She was born Appleton on March 16, 1920, daughter of the late Anton and Regina (Huhn) Strover. Regean “Grandma T.” worked for many years as a nurse’s aid at Appleton hospitals. Regean made many friends in Upper Michigan and loved to spend time in Gladstone. She was proud of her family and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Her dog, Chucky, will miss her dearly.
Regean is survived by her children: Roger (Bethene) Wheeler of Appleton, Richard (Stella) Wheeler of Illinois, Gregory (Toni) Wheeler, Sr. of Menasha, Jeanne Laux of Appleton, Steve (Nancy) Wheeler of Crandon, and Mark (Cynthia) Wheeler of Appleton; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and sisters: Lucretia “Pat” and Dawn “Goldie” Holiday. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Regean is preceded in death by her husbands: Eldee Wheeler and Alfred Thomack; beloved daughter Leota and son-in-law, Ralph Gillespie; brothers: Gregory, Gilbert, and Glendale Strover; and a sister, Marcella Mottel.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2004, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Inurnment will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
The family extends a special thank you to Chaplain Tom Oie and the nurses at Four South, St. Elizabeth Hospital. Additionally, the family thanks all those who have sent cards and prayers.
