Ranae Kay (Hoffman) Van Zeeland, age 36, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2014. Ranae was born on November 7, 1977 in Appleton to Thomas Hoffman and Jean (Neitzer) Heim.
Ranae graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1996. After graduation, Ranae worked as a CNA at a nursing home. She then worked at ServPro performing hazmat and restoration services. She then continued to work as a bartender and cook at K-Town Sports Bar & Grill, her family's business in Kaukauna. She made homemade soups and many menu favorites. Ranae was a well-loved part of the K-Town family and treasured all of her customers and the relationships she built with them.
Ranae was an avid pool shark, shooting for the past 15 years. Her passion for music led her to see many concerts and live band performances. She enjoyed singing everywhere she went, especially karaoke with friends.
Ranae's life revolved around her children, Tori and Lukas, her fiancé Adam, and his children Aaron and Ashley. She rescued many animals that became valued family pets including many fish, dogs (Stella and Hank), kitten (Blaze), hamsters (Peaches and Zelda) and numerous others. Ranae always supported her friends and family in hard times.
Ranae's spontaneous personality led her to enjoy the outdoors. She was most passionate about horseback riding and knee boarding. The rest of her free time was spent up north where she four wheeled, fished, and boated with family and friends.
Ranae is survived by her children, Victoria “Tori” Wheelock and Lukas Van Zeeland; her fiancé Adam Eichmeier and his children Aaron and Ashley. She is further survived by her parents Thomas (Barb) Hoffman and Jean (Jeff) Heim; siblings, Michelle (Pat) DeGroot and Travis (Susie) Hoffman; step siblings, Erin Heim, Allen Heim, Chris (John) Wolf, Lisa (Dave) Carnot, Steve (Sara) Emmer; niece Samantha DeGroot and nephew Alex DeGroot; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
