Age 78, died on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at Rennes Health Center. Ralph was born on December 15, 1922 in the Town of Ellington, son of the late Leonard and Josephine (Pingel) Bentle. On February 11, 1950, Ralph married Alice Borchardt, and they enjoyed 41 years of marriage, until she preceded him in death in 1990. Ralph was a past co-owner of the Bentle Brothers Cheese Factory, located in the town of Ellington. He served his country in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Ralph was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was also a past member of the Appleton Yacht Club. Ralph will be greatly missed by his brother-in-law, Art (Marlene) Borchardt; and his sisters-in-law, Florence (Milton) Bentle; and Darlene Corrao. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Ralph was preceded in death by his brothers, Milton “Boots” and Earl Bentle, and his sister-in-law, Margaret Bentle. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, September 15, 2001 at HIGHLAND MEMORIAL PARK, Star of Hope Chapel, 3131 North Richmond Street, Appleton, with Rev. Chris Lee-Thompson officiating. Friends will be received at the Chapel on Saturday, September 15, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Military honors will be performed following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to benefit cancer research would be appreciated.
