Rachel G. Christensen

Rachel Christensen, age 99 of Appleton, passed away peacefully at Brewster Village. Rachel was born in Randolph, Wisconsin on October 1, 1917, daughter of the late Hayden and Clara (Boelter) Owen. Following high school, she began her secretarial career. She worked at Employers Mutual Insurance, Appleton Papers Combined Locks Mill, Fox Valley Technical College, and her final twenty years in the workforce were spent at Kimberly Clark Corporation. She retired in 1976. For over fifty years, Rachel was married to Carlyle “Chris” Christensen, who preceded her in death in 2000. Rachel was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Hayden, and sisters Orpah, Ruth, and Jean. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, co-workers, and friends.

Rachel was a longtime and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, loved dancing to big band music, and was a former volunteer in the gift shop at the Appleton Medical Center.
