Age 59, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 22, 2006, at St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston, Wisconsin. She was born February 1, 1947, in Manitowoc, the daughter of Rudolph Mleziva, of Manitowoc, and the late Helen Mleziva. Phyllis grew up in Kellnersville, and was a graduate of Mishicot High School. She moved to the Fox Valley where she has been a resident most of her life.
In July of 2003, Phyllis retired after 30 years of employment with the Alcoa Company (Presto) in Appleton. Family and friends were the loves of Phyllis’ life, she enjoyed going up north, and shopping.
Survivors include her father, Rudolph; her sons, Duayne (Laura) Shusta, Appleton, and Doug (Cherie) Shusta, Neenah; her daughter, Barbara Stewart, Appleton; her significant other, David “Wiley” Wilhelm, Appleton; her grandchildren, Gary, Casey, and Andy Shusta, and Candice Stewart; several nieces and nephews and countless friends; and her furry friends, Bear and Rocky. She was preceded in death by her mother Helen Mleziva and her sister, Pauline Schultz.
A memorial celebration of Phyllis’ life will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the WICHMANN TRI-COUNTY FUNERAL HOME, Menasha. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. Friday until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be sent to the Fox Valley Humane Society, N115 Two Mile Road, Appleton, 54914.
Phyllis’ family respected her wishes to be an organ donor, and a valiant effort was made to honor her wishes.
