Age 90 passed away peacefully April 4, 2021, Easter Sunday. She was born June 26, 1930 to James and Jennie Wirth in Merrill, Wisconsin, and moved to Kaukauna at 9, where she grew up, making many LIFELONG friends. She met the love of her life, Clayton Weyers, at the Nightingale Ballroom in Kaukauna, and they married June 25, 1949. Phyllis loved to dance, sing, golf, play cards, and travel.
Phyllis will be remembered for her deep faith in God, as well as her love and devotion to her family & friends.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Vicki (Nicholas) Schanen of Grafton, Gary (Lori) Weyers of Kaukauna, Debra (Steven Neuser) Weyers-Neuser of Green Bay; daughter-in-law Jeanne Weyers of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren: Rebecca (friend Sebastian) Kohls, Jennifer (Zachary) Marsh, Andrew Kohls, Ryan (Angi) Weyers, Timothy (Heather) Weyers, Michael (Sherri Gwizdala) Weyers, Tammy (Alejandro) Gomez-Sanchez, Joshua (Melissa) Neuser, Jason (Keri) Neuser, James (friend Brittany) Neuser; step-grandchildren: Scott & Kelley Schanen; great-grandchildren: Sage, Trey, Kaya, Connor, Libby, Anthony, Max, Hannah, Brooklyn and Brody; sisters-in-law: Darlene Zinnen, Jeanne Wirth, and Alice Weyers. She is further survived by her dear friend and constant companion, Judy Oettinger, who accompanied her on the last few years of her Alzheimer’s journey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton, son, Thomas, and many other relatives and friends.
The memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 510 Sullivan Avenue in Kaukauna. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Note that masks WILL be required at the church.
