Age 81, of Appleton, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on May 4, 2004 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on August 26, 1922 to the late Gilbert and Ella (Voss) Lonson in Thief River Falls, MN.
Phyllis married Robert H. Wiegman on July 25, 1942 in Chicago. Phyllis worked as an administrative assistant for the State of Wisconsin until her retirement. She also volunteered at the Bargain Garden Thrift Shop. Most importantly she was a faithful member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and loved her Lord and family dearly.

Survivors include her sons: Robert J. (Sandra), Bruce E.(Anne); daughters: Gayle (William) Springer, Gloria Springer and Pamela J.(Thomas) Plamann; grandchildren: Kirsten (Christopher), Andrew, Kathryn (Chad), Aaron, Zachary, Brett, Brooke, Brad, Jason (Melissa), Jennifer, Sarah Jane, Timothy (Christina), Julian; great-grandchildren: Hannah, Ellyse, Adriana, Malachi and Chloe; two brothers: Carl Lonson and Morris (Mildred) Lonson; she is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters: Ruth Sukow, Margruite Walker, Eleanor Till and Alyce Thurow; brothers: George, Harry and Laurence Lonson.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 7, 2004 at 1:00 PM at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church (530 W. Parkway BLVD) Appleton with Pastor Mark Henke officiating. Friends will be received at church from 11:30 AM until the time of services. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church or The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (P.O. Box 650309 Dallas, TX 75265-0309).
