Peter A. Liethen, age 81 of Appleton, died on April 19, 2017. Peter was known for his great sense of humor. He had many friends, all of whom cared dearly for him. Peter was a veteran, serving during the Cold War Era. He was stationed in Germany, a country he loved and where his parents were born. Peter was a family man, and he and his wife Karen raised their boys, Peter M., Jeff and Tim on the south side of Appleton.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Rosanne Wassman and Margie Philipe and his parents, Adam and Anna Liethen.
He is survived by his wife Karen, children Peter M., Tim and Jeff Liethen, and sister, Elsie Hurst. He also wanted to mention his admiration for Jeff's wife Ellen, who he felt made Jeff the man he is today. His son Peter gave him two grandsons, Josh and Jeremy, which made him happy that the Liethen name will be carried forward.
We will all miss him and hope his time in the afterlife will be fitting of the great human being he was to all who knew him.
