Peter Andrew Holt

Peter Andrew Holt, 44, loving father of Eva and devoted husband of Nichole, tragically died in a highway accident on February 23, 2024.

Peter was born on March 2, 1979, in Janesville, WI. After graduating from J.A. Craig High School, he attended UW-Stevens Point, where he earned academic honors and a B.A. in Education/Social Sciences. Peter created a warm, welcoming group of friends and car enthusiasts quickly after moving to Appleton. In Appleton, he enjoyed a successful career as a senior sales associate at Bergstrom Automotive, where he won multiple accolades, including the Bergstrom “Excellence in Sales” award for 10 consecutive years. During his 23 years at Bergstrom, Peter helped innumerable customers, new and many repeat, find the right vehicle. Peter’s knowledge and love of cars knew no bounds, surpassed only by his infinite love for his family. Nichole and Eva meant the world to him, and he ensured that five-year-old Eva not only knew every car’s make and model but also had a diverse library of children’s books, which he loved reading to her. He enjoyed racing cars, running and biking, and was an advocate for social justice in all its forms. Armed with a sharp wit, perfect timing, and a one-liner for just the right moment, Peter had the ability to find the humor in almost any situation. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Peter is the beloved son of the late James and Judy Holt and is survived by his wife, Nichole, and his daughter, Eva. He is also survived by his sister, Wendy Francis (Holt), and her husband, Mike, and additional brothers-in-law, Nickolas Weiss and Steven Zebraitis. Also survived by multiple loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 10, from 10-1 PM at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 North Superior Street, Appleton, WI. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peter may be made to the United Way of Fox Cities, 1455 Midway Road, Menasha, WI 54952.
