Age 87, passed away with family at his side on Wednesday, December 8, 2004. He was born in Aurora, WI, on December 11, 1916, son of the late Jacob and Flora (De Clark) Neuens. On January 6, 1942, he married Maxine Bourassa in Aurora. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Pete was proud to serve in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member and chaplain of the William Verhagen Post of the American Legion in Kimberly. Pete retired from Kimberly Clark after 26 years. Pete and Maxine were members of Holy Name Catholic Church where Pete served as a custodian after retiring from Kimberly Clark. He was an avid Cubs fan and never missed professional wrestling on Monday nights. He was known as the “M&M Grandpa” as he always had them with him.
Pete is survived by his wife, Maxine; children: Gary (Roxanne) Neuens of Kaukauna, Randy (Linda) Neuens of Center Valley, Barbara (John) Hackel of Kaukauna, Dawn (Marty) Lambrecht of Little Chute and Phyllis (Gene) Vander Pas of Little Chute; 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren; brother, Jake (Darlene) Neuens of Aurora; sister, Gen Pynenberg of Little Chute; brother-in-law, Gordon Bourassa of Milwaukee; and a sister-in-law, Carol Neuens of Aurora. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Michael Neuens; brothers: Hank, Clarence (Sophia), Joseph (Jane) and Edward; sisters: Celia Neuens, Leona (Leo) Palmcook and Margaret (Hank) Skell; and infant brothers: John and Paul.
The funeral liturgy will be at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2004, at HOLY NAME OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. The burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Heartland Hospice. Their efforts were a comfort to the family. We would also like to thank those at Parkside Care Center who gave special care to our father.
Pete will be sadly missed by family and friends.
