Percy A. Blount Jr., age 86, of Appleton, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. He was born on June 14, 1932 (Flag Day) in Appleton, Wisconsin to the late Percy Sr. and Joyce (Taylor) Blount.
Percy founded Blount Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. in 1975 and his legacy continues on today. Percy served on the USS Valley Forge Air Craft carrier in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion organizations. He was active in many service organizations including serving as the Charter President of the Grand Chute Lions Club and on the Church Council. His faith was very important to him and he was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran church.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Geraldine Marie (Weber); three daughters, Susan (Frank) Kay, Brenda (Victor) Houfek and Nancy (Scott) Kuberra; five grandchildren, James and John Kay, Ryan and Patrick Houfek and Nicole Kuberra. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and brother-in-laws John Weber and Ronald (Alma) Weber and so many dear friends from Archibald Lake where he spent joyful and fun-filled summers, and in Bradenton, Florida where he and Geraldine escaped each winter as snowbirds and a multitude of friends from a lifetime spent in Appleton.
Percy is preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Joyce (Taylor), and his brothers Thomas (Peggy) Blount and Glenn Blount.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 601 E. Glendale Avenue in Appleton. Visitation will be held on Monday at church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service with Pastor Aaron Rosenau officiating. Military Honors will follow the funeral service. Entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Park at a later date. Online condolences can be shared at www.wichmannfargo.com.
