Penelope E. “Penny” Sabee, age 55, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2021 with family members at her side in Appleton, Wisconsin. Penny was born on December 14, 1965 to Michael and Marian (Wildhagen) Sabee. She was a 1984 graduate of Neenah High School. After graduation she attended Carroll College in Waukesha Wisconsin and earned her degree in French and later, Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan where she earned her Master’s Degree in International Business. From 1991 until the time of her passing, Penny had a successful career in the consumer mortgage industry. Beginning at InterFirst in 1991 and ending at HomePoint Financial. She held a number of supervisory and managerial positions within operations and later served as a business analyst, consultant and project manager for improving mortgage loan processes. Penny loved to spend time with her family, especially her niece and nephews and her adopted family in Michigan. She also loved cooking and enjoyed her “Cooking Group” which was a group of close friends who would gather regularly. Her great spirit of adventure had her traveling to all corners of the globe with her mom; visiting every continent except Antarctica.
She will be sadly missed by her parents, Michael and Marian Sabee, her favorite brother Dwight (Kristine) Sabee of West Bend and her favorite sister, Pamela McAvoy of Oshkosh as well as Pam’s children Adam, Sarah and Andrew. She is further survived by many close friends, including Melissa and Steve Tee and Cheri and Steve Richmond and their families from Michigan.
A service will be held at the New Apostolic Church, on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. EST. Due to the current gathering restrictions capacity is limited to 25 people for immediate family and friends, but the service will be available via live streaming at https://youtu.be/GdHLuw4d6BM
A Celebration of Life in honor of Penny will also be held at Buttes des Morts Country Club, Appleton, Wisconsin, February 6 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
Penny was an active member of the New Apostolic Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan serving on the Shared Leadership Team. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Apostolic Church, 4844 Jackson Rd, Ste 200, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.
