Peggy Houk

Margaret A. Houk, 92, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 15, 2024. Peggy was born on January 8, 1932, to her parents Albert and Ruth (Schwartz) Petzold.

Peggy was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and spent the first part of her life there until 1967, then they moved to Appleton when her husband, Peter Houk, relocated for work. She and Peter married in Grand Rapids and had 52 wonderful years together before he passed away in 2004.

Peggy was a homemaker for many years. She had a passion for writing and wrote several self-help books for teens. Along with writing, she loved her family, her dogs, her church, and the Packers. Go Pack Go!

Peggy is survived by her children: Cindy (John) Whitney, Debbie Peterson, Sue (Dan) Pierquet, Ken (Brenda) Katchenago; grandchildren: Jack Whitney, Tom (Becca) Whitney, Peter (Lisa) Peterson, Tim Peterson, Mike Pierquet, Lee (Heidi) Pierquet, Allie (Josh) Hrabe, Evan (Alex) Pierquet, Chris (Gail) Lukaska, Angela Katchenago, Jessica (Adrian) Bucio, Jenny Rappert; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers Edgar and Merlin.

A memorial service will be held on November 9, 2024, at Prince of Peace Lutheran, 2330 E Calumet St, Appleton WI, 54915. Visitation will be held from 10-11am, and the memorial service starts at 11am.
