Pauline V. Breen, Appleton, 88, passed away peacefully at home, following a long illness, Sunday evening, August 15, 2004. She was born January 6, 1916, to the late Malcom and Mary Ann (McElroy) Crooker, in Boston, Massachusetts, where she was a resident until moving to Appleton in 1994. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts had employed Pauline. She attended church service at St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Ann Falcone, Appleton; her son, William E. Breen, Jr., Boston, MA; a granddaughter, Paula (Edward) Palladino, Appleton; three great grandsons, Teddy, Billy and Andrew Palladino; her niece and goddaughter, Mary Ann (Diaz) Henderson, Redding, CA; and many cousins in the Boston Area. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Breen, Sr., and two sisters, Marian Diaz and Vera Marshall.

The funeral liturgy for Pauline will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 West Pine Street with Father Justin Werner officiating. Burial will be in Old Calvary Cemetery, Boston, Massachusetts. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 pm, Tuesday and on Wednesday, at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.

The family would like to thank all of the following, who made it possible for Pauline to remain at home, Sue Kinard of Outagamie County Health and Human Services, the caregivers and staff of Preferred Home Health, Mary Lou Morgan of Home Instead, respite caregiver Trish Hess, CNA’s Sharon Peterson, Brenda Vance and Cathy Walters, the nurses and staff of Theda Care at Home Hospice, Dr. John Elisberg and his staff and Mary May, who brought communion to Pauline’s home from St. Bernard.
