Pauline Helen Thompson passed away peacefully with family by her side on May 9, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. Pauline was born on June 12, 1950, was baptized September 3, 1950, and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Winneconne on May 23, 1965. Pauline attended Winneconne High School where she graduated in 1968. She attended Fox Valley Technical College and graduated with an Associate's Degree in Accounting. She concurrently studied data processing. Pauline retired in 2015 from the City of Appleton after a career spanning 34 years with Valley Transit.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her “grandma” days with her six grandchildren. She also enjoyed several hobbies including woodworking, gardening, attending auctions and collecting antiques, crafts, and of course cooking in bulk.
Pauline is survived by her daughters: Carrie (Richard) Passavant, Aimee (JD) Oelke, and Molly Thomas; her six grandchildren: Alaina Passavant, Eva Thomas, Kaytlyn Oelke, Madison Oelke, Jonah Oelke and Ezree Vossler. She is further survived by her mother: June Thompson; a sister: Barb (Joe) Shraven; her brothers; Mike Thompson, Dennis Thompson, Jeff (Debbie) Thompson, Terry Thompson, David (Kim) Thompson, and John (Jackie) Thompson, along with many nieces and nephews. Pauline was preceded in death by her father: Richard Thompson, a
Grandson: Jonathan Passavant, and nephews Marshall Thompson and Jason Thompson.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 20th at the Wichmann Funeral Home Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee Street in Menasha, with Rev. Sam Degner of Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning, May 20, from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Pauline requests that attendees dress brightly, just as her gardens spread joy throughout her life, she wishes this final celebration to be just as colorful.
