Paula Marlene Zwicker

Kaukauna

Paula M. Zwicker, 88, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Paula was born in Valley, Wisconsin at her grandparents farm August 24, 1934 to Paul and Arvilla (Obert) Krueger. Paula loved growing up on the farm in the summers with her sister Jan (Rodney) Erickson. Paula was preceded in death by two brothers during childhood, Paul and Larry. Paula also spent parts of her childhood growing up in Chilton, Baraboo, Reedsburg, and Fond du Lac. She graduated from Reedsburg High School and received her teaching degree from the Wisconsin State College in Oshkosh. Paula then taught elementary and art in Waukesha, Neenah, and Stevens Point, as well as coached tennis in Kaukauna.

While in Fond du Lac Paula met and married Thomas Zwicker on October 11, 1958 and settled in Neenah where they raised four sons, further raising them in Stevens Point, and Kaukauna—Paul and Susan (Adam, Tom, and Matt), Tom (deceased in the Navy), Dan and Gayle (Katie and Chloe), Jim and Peg (Darren and Andrea). Paula and Tom were married for 63 years until Tom’s death in 2022. Paula was a talented artist who put much of her creativity into designing and building their home in Stevens Point and continued decorating the family homes in Kaukauna, Door County, and Manitowish Waters. Paula loved to travel worldwide with Tom and friends, watching her grandchildren’s activities, and watching all sports—especially the NFL and tennis. Paula very much enjoyed time with all special friends, neighbors, nieces and nephews, her special cousin Betty, and sister in law Mary (Tom’s brother Bobby). Paula supported the community by starting Art in The Park in Stevens Point, involvement with Stevens Point Curling Club, Fox Valley Symphony, Hearthstone Appleton, Grignon Mansion, and Lawrence University’s art center.

Paula’s wish is to have friends and family fondly remember and cherish the many wonderful times they had together. Special Thanks to the Theda Care At Home staff.

Immediate family will remember Paula’s life at a private memorial service. Friends and extended family are welcome to make donations in memory of Paula to the 1000 Island Environmental Center in Kaukauna, WI.
