Paula Jean Kettner

Paula Jean Kettner (nee Zeller) age 68, of Appleton passed away on January 21, 2022.

Paula was born to Herbert and Janetta Zeller on August 16, 1953, in Appleton, WI.  She went to school at St. John and St. James Lutheran School in Reedsville, WI.  She then graduated from Reedsville High School.  She obtained her nursing degree from Lake Shore Technical College.  She married Paul Kettner on September 11^th, 1999. She worked as a Nurse at Manitowoc Healthcare, Outagamie County Hospital and finished her career at St. Paul’s Elder Care.

Paula enjoyed playing cards, camping, fishing, going out to eat searching for the “best fish fry”. She enjoyed celebrating and cooking for the various holidays.  She had a unique eye for colors and home décor. Additionally, she enjoyed her dogs, sitting on the porch at the family cottage at Shawano Lake, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Paula is survived by her siblings Terry Zeller of Brillion, Glenn Zeller of Brillion, LuAnn Stehula (special friend Don Horswill) of Kellnersville, Kay Mullins (Jack) of Appleton; stepdaughter Aimee Kettner and step-grandchildren Tyson and Molly; nephews Shane (Nicole) Stehula, Eric (Christianna) Mullins, Sam Stehula, Zach Zeller, and Austin Mullins; great nephews Levi Bryer, Ashton Stehula, and Peter Mullins; great niece Adalyn Mullins; step nephews Thomas (Cathy) Lison, Jessie (Michelle) Lison, Chad (Heather) Lison and step niece Stacy (David) Evenson.

Paula is preceded in death by her husband Paul Kettner, parents Herbert and Janetta Zeller, sisters-in-law Mary Zeller and Nancy Ann Lisbon, godchild Andy Mullins, along with uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

The family of Paula wishes to extend our sincere thanks to St. Paul Elder Care and the staff for their compassionate and loving care during her illness.

Memorial services for Paula will be held at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street, on Monday January 31, 2022, at 3:00 PM. Memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of services. Private interment at Riverside Cemetery. For those unable to attend the services for Paula in person, the funeral services will be available via livestream through her obituary page on Monday, January 31^st at 3:00 PM.
