STIERMAN, PAUL T.
Paul T. Stierman, age 57, son of Barbara and the late LeRoy Stierman, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Appleton Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Paul was born on August 8, 1950 in Appleton, and graduated from Appleton West High School in 1968. He proudly served his country in Vietnam, earning a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Paul worked at R. Sabee Co. for 38 years, retiring in September of 2007 due to his health. It was at R. Sabee Co. that Paul met his wife, Vicki Schilling. They married in 1975 and together they had two beautiful daughters Jenny and Kim. Paul’s life was full of family, friends and memories. He was always ready to sit you down, hand you a can of Old Style, and tell you a story of his younger days, and he had many, many stories. Paul was a human encyclopedia, absorbing years of facts and knowledge from the History Channel and National Geographic. He loved the outdoors and nature, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed being outside to feed his “pet” squirrels on a daily basis. Paul loved the sport of tennis and could always find something to keep himself busy. He always said if there was a competition for the “World’s Greatest Putzer”, he would win. Paul collected many “neat things” over the years that some would consider junk, but Paul could find the value and beauty in most anything. He is survived by his mother Barbara Stierman; his wife of 32 years, Vicki; his two daughters, Jenny (Ty West), of Sheboygan Falls, and Kimberly, of Appleton; his brother-in-law, Jeff (Susan) Schilling, Appleton; and his brother, Peter (Cecelia) Stierman, Fond du Lac. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins—and a grandchild on the way. Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 North Superior Street, Appleton, with Fr. Larry Abler officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Paul’s name to benefit the American Cancer Society. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff at Appleton Medical Center and especially the Siekman Cancer Center for their loving care.
