Age 70, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at the Oshkosh Medical and Rehabilitation Center. Paul was born in Appleton on December 18, 1932, son of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Plesser) Stuyvenberg. On July 1, 1957 he married the former Nancy Ayers in Appleton; she survives. For nearly forty years, Paul was employed at the Kimberly Mill, retiring in 1988. In his younger years, Paul had his own tree-trimming business in the area. As a young man, he and his dad operated a Christmas tree lot at their home, and since his marriage to Nancy, the family has continued the tradition. Paul was a busy husband and father, having been a member of the Kimberly Volunteer Fire Department for nineteen years. He also enjoyed bowling with the firefighters in the Mill League and with Nancy in the KRA Couples League, hunting, fishing, boating, watching Packer games, visiting the casino, playing cards, watching his grandchildren pursue their activities, spending time at the family cottage on Lake Poygan and at his tree farm in Bowler. In his retirement, he fulfilled his longtime dream of purchasing land and planting his own Christmas trees.
Paul is survived by his wife of forty-six years: Nancy Stuyvenberg of Kimberly; six children: Paula (Mark) Van Cuyk of Kimberly and their children Nick, Doug, and Jenni; Joanne Seif of Kimberly and her friend Rick Freimuth and her sons Aaron and Kevin Seif and his fiancée Michelle Rashke; Dennis Stuyvenberg of Weyauwega and his fiancée Sheila Schabo; Mary Jo (Rich) Kohl of Appleton and their sons Matt and Ben; Janice (Bob) Grissman of Kimberly and their daughters Schelby and Stephany; Carol (Randy) Wierschke of Kimberly and their sons Jason, Justin, and Jared; a great-grandson: Cameron Seif; three brothers: Don (Ginger) Stuyvenberg of Darboy; Gene (Carol) Stuyvenberg of Kimberly; Dick (Pat) Stuyvenberg of Kimberly; three sisters: Rita (Carl) Rehfeldt of East Dubuque, Illinois; Betty (Jim) Ludwig of Chilton; Mary (Larry) Vander Pas of Kimberly; three sisters-in-law: Nori Stuyvenberg, June Stuyvenberg, and Karen Stuyvenberg all of Kimberly; his mother-in-law: Lyla Ayers of Appleton; and by Nancy’s brothers and sister: John (Lois) Ayers of Sturtevant; Jim (Nan) Ayers of Minneapolis; Patty (Marty) Vander Wielen of Neenah. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Ken, Robert, and Gerald Stuyvenberg; brothers-in-law: Ken Martin and Bob Kramer; sisters-in-law: Dorothy and Jeanne Stuyvenberg; and his father-in-law Aloysius Ayers.
