Paul L. Weichbrod, Grand Chute, 59, passed away at home on Saturday, July 28, 2007. Paul was born in Oak Park, Illinois on May 15, 1948 to the late Clarence and Ann (Matyasec) Weichbrod. On October 17, 1968, Paul married his loving wife, Leslie Fails. Paul served in the United States Army in Africa from 1969 to 1971. He worked for 38 years for P.H. Glatfelter (Bergstrom Papers). Paul grew up on a dairy farm outside of Waupaca, Wisconsin and loved the outdoors. He was a consummate hunter and marksman and was equally adept with guns or bow and arrow. His passion was bow hunting for elk in the Rocky Mountains. He was a sponsor member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Paul also enjoyed shooting trap competitively and won many awards. Paul’s other passion was horses. Paul used his horses in back country hunting as well as for recreational riding.

Paul was also a devoted family man. He made it a point to spend quality time with his wife children and grandchildren throughout the year. Paul is survived by his wife of 38 years, Leslie; children Shellie (John) Schomisch and their children John Paul, Nicholas and Natalie; his son Eric (Stacy) Weichbrod and their daughter Hannah; a brother Claude Weichbrod and sisters Judy Weichbrod, Janet Schlehlein and Joyce Weichbrod (Dave Cook). Other than his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Jim Schlehlein.
