Patrick "Paddy" Knapp

Patrick “Paddy” Knapp, age 21, of DePere Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly with his younger brother Melchior “Melly” Knapp on Wednesday November 25, 2020 in Kiel, Wisconsin. He was the oldest son of Patrick Knapp and Sara (Huberty) Knapp.

Paddy is survived by his father, Patrick (Anne) Knapp of Kiel;, WI, his mother Sara (Marc) Knapp of DePere; two siblings, Gabriel “Gabe” Knapp and Scarlett Knapp, and three step-siblings; Chris, Erin and Allie. Paddy is also survived by loving aunts and uncles, cousins, Grandma Joan, and Nana and Papa Knapp. Paddy is further survived by his dogs Bubba and Baxter, and numerous dear family and friends.

Paddy graduated from Fond du Lac High School in 2017.

Paddy was a kind and gentle soul who was a beacon of light to those who knew him. He was a sweet and loving young man who was a positive influence to all his family and friends.

Paddy was very proud to be a big brother and took that responsibility seriously. He loved to listen to music, watch scary movies and play video games. Every Halloween Paddy would sit with us and we’d write up a list of movies to watch for the ‘31 Days of Halloween’. He also loved to write short fantasy and sci-fi stories. Paddy would draw and paint; he was an amazing artist with a fantastic imagination. Paddy enjoyed doing around-the-house projects, and was very proud of the ramp that he helped build. He also loved to play board and fantasy games with family and friends. Paddy also did a podcast series with his good friend Casey titled “This is How We Roll” that he was very proud of.

Paddy loved nature, sitting outside in the sun, listening to music or looking up at the stars. He loved to take walks, and was always the first one outside if we were having a fire. He loved his bunnies, kittens and puppies, and was so happy when he was able to take care of Bubba. He also loved the non-furry animals; he wanted a snake, bearded dragon, and was a friend to all the frogs and toads in our yard. He loved getting on the riding mower to mow the lawn.

Paddy was preceded in death by his Grandpa Irvin Huberty, and his dog, Rainey.

Paddy Knapp was called home to heaven on November 25, 2020.

A memorial service for he and Melly will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha, the church of their baptisms.  The service will be live streamed at this site for those who cannot attend.
