Age 71 years, died peacefully on Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Appleton Medical Center, from complications of diabetes. He was born June 4, 1935, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton and was the son of the late Emmet J. and Mary (Rotzenberg) Kavanaugh. Pat was united in marriage to Shirley Mader on August 25, 1962, at St. Mary�s Catholic Church, Kaukauna, sharing 44 years together. He graduated from Kaukauna High School (Class of 1953) and was proud of being on the 1953 State Championship Baseball Team. Pat was employed at Riverside Paper, Appleton, for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He served with the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. He was a member of St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, Appleton and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid sports fan of the Packers and Brewers. He enjoyed eating out at Dick & Joan�s. Survivors include his wife Shirley; three children; Dawn Blixt, Darboy, Shawn (Lois) Kavanaugh, Menasha, Brenda Kavanaugh, Appleton; grandchildren: Stephanie Blixt, Erin and Jared Kavanaugh; a sister, Joan Casperson, Kaukauna, a brother, Ken Kavanaugh, Kaukauna; brothers in law; John (Barb) Mader, Racine; Dave (Revana) Mader, Appleton and nephews, nieces and cousins. Pat was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in law, Jill Kavanaugh. The Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2007 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 North McDonald St., Appleton, with Rev. Gerald Falk officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. We wish to thank all the staff at AMC 3SW for their loving care of Pat.
