Patricia J. Hausler died peacefully with her family at her side on June 7, 2021, at Cherry Meadows. She was born May 23, 1936, in Milwaukee to the late Martin and Carola Beaumont. She lived most of her life in the Appleton area, except for four elementary school years during WWII when her family moved to Glendale CA and about which she held fond memories.
Pat graduated from Appleton High School in 1954 and married Robert Vander Hyden on June 27, 1956, with whom she had four children and was married for 13 years. They enjoyed camping, Friday fish dinners, and many extended family picnics. She later worked for Wisconsin Bell Telephone for 23 years, where she met Herman Bredeck, marrying him on April 30, 1983. During their 18 years of marriage they wintered in Port Aransas TX, often with her parents, and loved playing tennis and visiting family. Pat married James Hausler on Feb. 14, 2006, and they enjoyed cheering the Packers, biking, and road trips in their convertible.
A member of Trinity Lutheran Church for many years, Pat later became an active member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church where she participated in Bible study, book club, and choir. She loved walking, reading, theater, travel, and an occasional Scotch, and volunteered at Cherry Meadows and ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton.
Pat was dearly loved by her family and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her children, Robbi (Alex) Battey, Scott Vander Hyden, and Jody (Rick) Carman; grandchildren Caroline, A.J., Cate, Collin, Linzee (Lee), Maggie, and Zac (Siobhan); and great-grandchildren Caiden, Olivia, Riker, Finley, Bodhi, and Gabriel. She is also survived by her sister-in-law JoAnn Beaumont, aunt Donna Beaumont Atwater, nieces, nephew, many cousins, her ex-husband Bob Vander Hyden, and the good friends who supported her during her illness.
In addition to her parents Marty and Carol Beaumont, Pat is predeceased by her infant son David, husbands Herm Bredeck and Jim Hausler, and brother James Beaumont.
The family is grateful to the hospice team at ThedaCare who cared so compassionately for Pat over the last several months and to the staff at Cherry Meadows who helped Pat transition from this life to the next with dignity.
Services will be held Aug. 6, 2021, at the Appleton Highland Memorial Park Chapel, 3131 N. Richmond Street, with Pastor Kurt Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am until 11:00 am followed directly by a memorial service at 11:00 am.
