Patricia Mary Ashenbrucker passed away peacefully in her home at the Heritage in Appleton with her family near, on November 26,2022. Pat was born on April 15,1924, daughter of Chester and Marie (Downey) McDaniel. She graduated from Menasha High School.
After the war, Patricia attended UW Madison and earned her degree in English and education. While attending school, she met and later married her husband, John Ashenbrucker. Patricia used her education, teaching at St Mary’s in Menasha and working for a newspaper in Connecticut. She also enjoyed a brief broadcasting career with her husband John on “Senior Showcase”. Patricia worked to make a loving home for her family during several moves between Wisconsin and the East Coast. She was happiest when she returned to settle permanently back in the Fox Valley.
Patricia enjoyed reading, playing bridge, square dancing, and traveling extensively with her husband John. At 94 she was able to travel to California to dance with her grandson at his wedding.
Patricia is survived by her youngest sister, Mona Fuszard; sons Joseph and Stephen (Gloria Fallis); grandchildren Connor (Anya Kashtanova) and Evelyn; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John, daughter Jane, and siblings Jim McDaniel, Colleen McCann, and Ruth Heidt.

A memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church (309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna) on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of mass at 11:00 AM.
