Patricia Ann Zeegers, 71, of Appleton, passed away on August 14, 2021, at home, surrounded by family. Pat was born on June 8, 1950, to Maurice and Marian (Vanderlois) Barta. She attended Appleton West High School. On February 8, 1969, Pat married Jim, the love of her life. They celebrated 53 years of marriage and enjoyed 19 years of retirement together. Pat loved travelling, crafts, gardening, and shopping for the best deals. She loved all types of music, going to concerts with her daughters, and attending shows at the Performing Arts Center. She was also a life-long member of St. Joseph Parish.
Pat loved spending time with her family more than anything else; beating Jim in cribbage was a close second. Pat’s greatest pleasure came from her grandchildren. She had 1 grandson and 5 granddaughters. Pat had a special relationship with each of them and they all adored her. She was truly her happiest when surrounded by family. Pat loved to bake and always had treats ready. No one could walk into Pat’s kitchen without a quick look for cookies. Everyone was welcome and nobody left hungry.
Pat will be deeply missed by her loving husband Jim Zeegers; her daughters: Cori (Steve) King and Kelly (Chad) Wolf; grandchildren: Sam, Abbie, and Mackenzie King, and Grace, Jessica, and Sarah Wolf; sisters: Mary Veitenhans and Jean Zanzig; brothers: Tom (Jane) Barta and Bill (Sue) Barta; sister-in-law: Chris Barta; and life-long friend: Barb Meyer. She was preceded in death by her parents: Maurice and Marian Barta; brother: Paul Barta; and brother-in-law: Dick Zanzig.
The Funeral Liturgy for Pat will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021 at St. Joseph Parish, 410 West Lawrence St. in Appleton, with Father Gerry Pehler OFM Cap. officiating. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com. Pat’s family would like to thank Beth, Melissa, and Joan with ThedaCare at Home Hospice for their compassionate care, and Father Jim Leary for his spiritual support.
