Patricia A. Grassl (Zapp), age 92, passed away at Gardens of Fountain Way on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Pat was born January 19, 1929, in Appleton, to the late William and Adella (Stier) Zapp. Patricia “Pat” was a life-long resident of Appleton. She married Edmund Grassl on September 5, 1953 at St. Therese Catholic Church, and worked for as a homemaker. Pat was a loving and caring wife and mother. Pat was an excellent bowler and loved raising her four children. Pat and Eddie were avid Cub and Packer fans and she loved her game shows, old movies and music.
Pat is survived by her four children: James (Carol) Grassl of Combined Locks, Gary (Lisa) Grassl of Appleton, David Grassl of Appleton, and Thomas (Stacy) Grassl of Appleton; four grandchildren: Joseph, Brittney (fiancé Jonathan Metzler), Jared (special friend Autumn), and Shayna (special friend Dominic); two step-grandchildren: Doug (Tammy) Sorge and Dustin Sorge; two step-great-grandchildren: Jadon and Landon; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Jerry (Bonnie) Zapp and Willard Zapp.
The funeral liturgy for Pat will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, located at 222 E. Fremont Street in Appleton. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, all donations will be sent to the Seminarian Fund in her name.
