Age 91, was called to his Lord, unexpectedly, Wednesday afternoon, January 15, 2003. He was born October 29, 1911, to the late Charles and Rosa (Hensel) Freiberg, in Fond du Lac and had been an Appleton area resident for over 40 years. Orv had been employed by Standard Oil Company for 34 years, retiring in 1973 as an auditor. He loved to garden, play cards, yardwork, camping and traveling. Orv had been a very active member of Faith Lutheran Church, Appleton, Grace Lutheran Church, Appleton and presently of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Kaukauna. Survivors include his wife, Hazel M. (Zabel) Freiberg, to whom he had been married for 67 years; a son, Micheal A. Freiberg, Menasha; a daughter Linda S. Wunderlich, Kaukauna; two grandsons, Timothy (Cheryl) Wunderlich, Appleton and Daniel Wunderlich, Menasha; a great grandson, Timothy Wunderlich, Jr.; and a brother, Arthur Freiberg, Appleton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Carl Freiberg and a daughter-in-law, Gerry Freiberg. Private family services for Orville were held, with Reverend Ronald Raddatz officiating. Burial will be in Esterbrook Cemetery, Fond du Lac. A memorial fund has been established for St. Paul Home, Kaukauna.
