Margaret (Works) Vollmer
368 Pine Menasha, WI
Age 76, died June 2, 2001 at her home. Margaret was born April 13, 1925 in Hector, Minnesota. Daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude (Schulte) Works. She married Joseph Vollmer on August 18, 1956 in Hector, MN. Prior to moving to Menasha in 1958, Margaret was employed with General Mills for seven years. They became members of First United Methodist Church of Neenah/Menasha in 1960 and Margaret was a past president of the United Methodist Women of the church, and was a member of Post 127 Women’s Auxiliary of Hilbert, Wisconsin. Following her husband’s retirement in 1993, Margaret and Joe wintered in Florida and have also become members of the Kathleen Methodist Church of Lakeland.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph, two sons, Timothy (Green Bay) and Thomas (Menasha); brother-in-laws Kenneth Warde, Appleton, Jon (Donna) Vollmer, Kaukauna, Judd (Sue) Vollmer, Menasha, James (Sandy) Vollmer, California; sister-in-laws Kan (Ron) Ranken, Neenah, Genrose Vollmer, Green Bay; also many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by a son, Terry Vollmer; two sisters, Mildred Works Anderson, and Miriam Works Warde; one brother, George Works; nephew Rick Ranken, two grandneices, Jessica and Jennifer Anderson; and one grandnephew, Tyler Anderson.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2001 at 1:00 PM at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 201 South Commercial Street in Neenah. Friends may call at the CHURCH from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
Margaret was a gentle, caring, special lady. She was especially known by her family and dear friends for remembering special birthdays and anniversaries each year. A very special “thank you” to Theda Care Home Care and Hospice Home Care for their special care and concern. A special thank you to Matt, Jo, and Steffie, also many more special people. A memorial is being established in Margaret’s name.
