Opal M. Fisher, age 99, passed away on Friday March 22, 2019 due to congestive heart failure. She died peacefully at her home in the Village of Fox Crossing. Opal was born on November 22, 1919 in West Plains, MO. She was the daughter of the late Urshel and Vere Vandermark.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Gordon D. Fisher, her sister Jacqueline Littlefield, and her two brothers Earl Vandermark and James Vandermark. Opal is survived by her nephew Nathan (Penny) Littlefield, her nice Cheryl Hicks and her sister-in-law Gloria Meeks.
Opal became acquainted with the Bible-based teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses from her mother and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1939. She enjoyed studying the Bible with many individuals over the years and was active in sharing the Bible’s message up until her death. She married Gordon Fisher on April 28, 1951 and the couple enjoyed a lifetime of adventure, travel and happiness.
A memorial service will be held for Opal at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 2909 N. Roemer Rd. in Appleton on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 5:00 pm. Visitation with family and friends will be at 4:00 pm until the time of service.
