BRAATEN, OPAL B.

Opal B. Braaten, of Appleton, age 86 years, died Monday, April 10, 2006 at Brewster Village. She was born July 24, 1919 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of the late Rhinehard and Eva (Roberts) Holts. Opal married Edwin K. Braaten, Sr. on May 9, 1942. She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children: Robert (Ann) Braaten, Greenville; Cheri Suess, Appleton; Sue (Wayde) Gillen, Appleton; Candyce Braaten, Appleton and Ed (Mary) Braaten, Jr.; six grandchildren: Dan (Liza), Wendy, Doug (Amy), Jenny (Todd), Nicole and Sam; two great grandchildren: Jack and Gwen and her sister-in-law, Ruth Dennin, Appleton. Opal was preceded in death by her husband and a sister Itt Bestul.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 912 N. Oneida St., Appleton with Rev. Larry Matthews officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Church on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
