Age 78, died on Monday, June 18 2001, the result of an automobile accident in Illinois. Pola was born in Rayville, Louisiana on August 2, 1922, daughter of the late Gordon and Ruth (Finklea) Cain. She attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana, where she earned a Bachelors Degree. Pola married Harold Bravick in 1946, and they enjoyed 37 years of marriage until he preceded her in death in 1983. She was active in many organizations, including: the AAUW; the daughters of the American Revolution; Leaven; Arboritum and Gardens; Appleton Medical Auxillary; Riverview Country Club; and First English Lutheran Church.
Pola will be greatly missed by her daughter, Karen (Greg) Meyer, and their children Josh and Zach; her son Richard Bravick, and his children Ben and Kara, and great grandson, Dylan; three brothers, Gordon Cain, Houston, Texas; Frank Cain, M.D., Lake Providence, Louisiana; Edward Cain, San Clemente, California; and her sister, Ruth Upton, Rayville. She was preceded in death by her sister, Billie Mix.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, June 22, 2001, at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 326 East North Street, Appleton, with Rev. Willis Bloedow and Frank Connor officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, June 21 from 4 until 7 p.m., and again at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
