Schroeder, Norman O.
Norman O. Schroeder, age 89, of Grand Chute, passed away Monday morning, December 10, 2007. He was born June 5, 1918, to the late Edward and Anna (Kositzke) Schroeder, in Outagamie County and grew up on the family farm in Grand Chute, where he lived most of his life. Norman served with the U. S. Army during WW II and was discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He had been employed by Badger State Hatchery for over 40 years, retiring in 1980. Norman loved hunting when he was younger, taking his children ice fishing and playing the bass fiddle. He is a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and a former member of the Harvey Pierre VFW Post #2778. He is survived by his wife, Lila T. (Truax) Schroeder, whom he married July 9, 1951; three children, Raymond G. (Kathleen) Salter, Crivitz; Madelyn (Dennis) Olson, Appleton; Julann (Kenneth) Boelter, Menasha; nine grandchildren, Melissa (Matt) Duvall, John (Cindy) Kolstad, Amy (Mark) Schiltz, Robin (Neal) Vandervest, Chad (Dana) Olson, Ryan (Michelle) Olson, Erik Olson, Kris (Lori) Olson, Ashley Boelter; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Syvilla Sager, Appleton; a sister-in-law, Lucille Schroeder, Appleton; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Schroeder. Funeral services for Norman will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 13, 2007, at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 North Morrison Street, with Reverend Ralph C. Waack officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
