Age 89, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2003 at the Hospice at Cherry Meadows. He was born on August 6, 1913 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late Paul and Renee Wilson. On August 5, 1939 he married Phyllis Zanger in Detroit. He was employed by the Ford Motor Company for 35 years retiring in 1970. He was one of the few people who enjoyed every minute of his job; Norm also loved skeet shooting, golf, boating, and being outdoors, but the greatest joy in his life was his family.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis of Appleton, his two daughters Carol (Charles) Carmer and Donna (Frank) Dietz all of Appleton; his grandchildren Brad (Ann) and Greg (Shelley) Cullen, Christen (Nigel) Heyn, and Chad (Jamie) Carmer; his great grandchildren Callie and Kirsten Cullen, Alexandra and Elizabeth Heyn, and Alexis Carmer; his nephews, niece and grand nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 724 East South River Street with the Rev. Jane Weeden officiating.
The family wishes to thank Theda Care at Home for their very special care and wishes to express their love and gratitude to the entire staff at The Hospice at Cherry Meadows. A memorial fund is being established for the Hospice at Cherry Meadows and may be directed to the address below.
