Age 76, passed away at the home of his son on Saturday, March 10, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Menasha on January 22, 1931 son of the late Joseph and Anna (Jochman) Hartzheim. He married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Daniel on March 14, 1951. Norbert worked at the Kimberly Mill for 38 years, 12 of those years he spent as president of the United Paper Mill Workers Union. He retired as head paper tester in the technical department. Norb’s passions were fixing and building things. He loved working in his shop through the years, creating many interesting and useful devices. In 2002, Norbert and Virginia moved to Arkansas. He loved Arkansas and the wonderful neighbors and friends he met there. He enjoyed golf, singing in the choir and reading in the warm sun. All who knew him will miss his warm smile and sense of humor.

Norb is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia; children: Wayne (Mary) Hartzheim, Linda (Don) Green, Samantha (Scott) Burroughs and Darrel Hartzheim; brothers: Robert (Marge) Hartzheim and Donald Hartzheim; sister, Ann Gill; grandchildren: Zane, Brett and Uriah (Elissa); great-grandchildren: Jessica and Hunter; brother-in-law, Fred (Barb) Daniel; and sister-in-law, Kathy (Marvin) Van Dyke. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joseph; and his beloved granddaughter, Sativa.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Kimberly Presbyterian Church, 206 N. John St., Kimberly, with Rev. Wil Tabb officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

The family extends a special thank you to all the wonderful hospice workers, both in Arkansas and Wisconsin, who helped and cared so much.
