Age 73, passed away at his home on Monday, July 8, 2002, surrounded by his loving family. Norb was born on June 17, 1929 in Kimberly, son of the late Leo and Marie (Van Laarhoven) Santkuyl. Norb was a graduate of the Kimberly High School and during the Korean Conflict served his country as a member of the United States Army. On June 25, 1955, he married the former Pat Mollineau in Appleton; she survives. Norb was employed by Kimberly Clark (RePap) for over forty years, and was a member of the William Verhagen Post #60 of the American Legion. He enjoyed travel, hunting, fishing, and spending time at the family cottage at Washington “Mud” Lake in Shawano County. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and the kids saw him as the best Grandpa ever!
He is survived by his wife: Pat Santkuyl of Kimberly; a daughter: Peggy (Jerry) Mischler of Darboy and their children Ross, Allison, and Maggie; three sons: Tom (Carla) Santkuyl of Combined Locks and their children Ryan, John, and Kari; Pete Santkuyl of Fremont and his special friend Nan Schmidli; Paul (Wendy) Santkuyl of Darboy and their children Molly, Sam, and Amy. Norb is further survived by two brothers: Joe (Jean) Santkuyl of Kimberly and Art (Joan) Santkuyl of Little Chute; two sisters: Christine (Bob) Biechler of Menasha and Dolores (Bill) Caraker of Bradenton, Florida; two sisters-in-law: Donna Hauser of Green Bay and Evelyn Mollineau of Appleton; and his mother-in-law: Marguerite Hawkes of Menasha. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by brothers-in-law Bernie Smith, Bob Hauser, and Dick Mollineau.
The funeral liturgy will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2002 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue with Rev. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery with military memorial honors being provided by the members of American Legion Post #60. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 PM Wednesday (TODAY) and at the church on Thursday from 10 AM until the hour of the services. Visitation on Wednesday will conclude with a legion visitation at 6:45 PM and a parish prayer service at 7 PM at the funeral home.
Norb was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
