LAUER, NORBERT A.
Norbert Lauer, of Appleton, age 73 years, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 2, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born November 4, 1933 in Stephensville, Wisconsin, the son of the late John and Magdalen (Kettner) Lauer. On May 9, 1961 at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute, Rose Ann Hietpas became his wife. Norbert was employed for over 23 years at Morning Glory Farms (now Foremost) and retired in 1991. He was a member of the Catholic Knights and St. Mary Catholic Church where he ushered. Norbert enjoyed crosswords, word search, enjoyed all sports especially bowling and loved the Packers. His greatest joy of all was spending time with his grandkids.
Norbert is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rose Ann Lauer, Appleton; children: Daniel Lauer, Little Chute; Gerald (Rita) Lauer, Omro; Julie Lauer, Appleton and Sue Ann (Dwayne) Van Den Elsen, Little Chute; grandchildren: Richard Reinke, Annette (Nathan) Ballew, Jennifer Marsh, Jeremy, Nicholas, Arvin and Stephanie Lauer, Terry and Sara Van Den Elsen; great grandchildren: Tyler and Aubrey Marsh; brothers: Leon (Beth) Lauer, Appleton and Anton (Grace) Lauer, Stephensville; sisters: Mary (Bill) Derks, Combined Locks; Joann VandeYacht, Combined Locks and Sister M. Antonice, Manitowoc. He is further survived by Rose Ann’s family, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Norbert was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Anton Lauer, sister-in-law Betty Lauer and brother-in-law Arthur VandeYacht.
The funeral liturgy for Norbert will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 S. State Street with Fr. Michael K. O’Rourke officiating. Interment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 6th at Wichmann Funeral Home from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Good bye Dad, until we meet again.
