Schnoebelen, Nicholas E.
Appleton

Great husband, father, grandfather, friend, age 66, passed away suddenly, on Monday, September 27, 2004. Nicholas was born on October 6, 1937 in Tomahawk, WI, son of the late Herman and Katherine (Yenor) Schnoebelen. On June 9, 1958, Nicholas married June Welk in Marshfield, WI. June was the love of his life and he cared for her until her death in 2003. The family lived in La Crosse for 23 years, before relocating to Appleton in 1985. Nicholas attended the Minocqua school system, where he excelled in music. He graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a degree in music and was a band leader for 30 years. Nicholas worked towards his master’s degree at UW-Madison, and then earned a computer science degree from Winona State. He also taught drivers education. Nicholas loved the North Woods and spending time outdoors with family and friends, no matter what the season. Nicholas also enjoyed boating on the river, cars and motorcycles. He was a compassionate man, who touched the lives of the many people he met through his teaching and music.

Nicholas is survived by his two daughters: Kathy Boldt and children: Lindsey and Kelly and son-in-law David Boldt, all of Madison; Joanie (Dale) Villers, and children: Nick, Nicole, and Sarah, all of Algoma; his sister, Anne (John Meixner) Schnoebelen, Houston, TX; sister-in-law, Verna (“Snick”) Quicker and nephew, David Quicker, all of Altoona.

The Memorial Service will be held at Noon, on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, with Deacon Pete Reinl officiating. A gathering will be held on Saturday, October 2 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. As an expression of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established in memory of Nicholas. The family wishes to pay special thanks to friends and neighbors for their caring support.
