Neil S. Moderson

September 25, 1949 — February 25, 2006

Neil S. Moderson, age 55, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, February 25, 2006. Neil was born in Green Bay on September 25, 1950, the son of Goldine (nee Bauer) Moderson of Appleton and the late Carl Moderson. He was a graduate of Xavier High School and the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and for many years worked for the IDI Corporation in Milwaukee as a draftsman, designer, and later in the sales area. Most recently he worked in the financial services field for Packerland Brokerage in Green Bay. Those who knew Neil knew him to be a master at nearly everything. He was able to either fix absolutely anything, and if it couldn’t be repaired, he could fabricate a new one. He was skilled in woodworking, machining, custom motorcycles, and was currently building a custom street rod from the ground up. Neil was a Harley Davidson lover, and to him, if it wasn’t a Harley, it wasn’t even a bike. Neil loved Pontiac muscle cars, and was a former member and past president of the Milwaukee Area GTO Club.

Survivors include his wife of five years: Debbie Hurst – Moderson, whom he married in Hawaii on December 7, 2000; his children: Carl W. and Rachel M. Moderson of Hartland; his mother: Goldine Moderson of Appleton; a brother: Wayne (Lynnette) Moderson of Appleton; a brother-in-law: Jeffrey M. (Debra) Kottke of Weyauwega; and a sister-in-law: Jennifer S. (William “Buck”) Van Boxtel of Black Creek. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, many good friends, and by his beloved dog, Genevieve. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Moderson, and by Deb’s parents Philip and Marilene (nee Stead) Kottke.

Funeral services for Neil will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the funeral home chapel, with Deacon Rick Simon of St. Pius X Catholic Church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 PM until the hour of the service.

“Life’s a journey – enjoy it!”
