Age 71, passed away at Appleton Medical Center on Thursday, May 3, 2007. He was born in Chicago on May 7, 1935 the son of the late Dominic and Irmgard (Martens) Sheridan. During high school Neil enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in Korea during the conflict. On December 21, 1984 he married Jean "Jeannie" Franke. Neil was very proud to be a marine. He loved being in the outdoors where he fished, gardened and spent time at his cabin in Pickerel.
Neil is survived by his wife Jeannie; children: Michael Sheridan of Hortonville, Tim (Brenda) Sheridan of Kaukauna and Jill Sheridan of Redondo Beach, CA; granddaughter: Angela Sheridan; stepdaughter, Lisa (Joe) Ierubino of Orlando, FL and their children: Nicolas and Sammy; sisters: Phyllis (Lee) DeKeyser of Green Bay and Noreen (Ron) Voigt of Appleton; brother, Bill (Beverly) Sheridan of Chicago; sister-in-law, Karen (John) Clarke of Appleton; and former wife, Rita Sheridan. He is preceded in death by two brothers: Tom and Terry Sheridan.
The funeral service will be at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2007 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel, 3212 South Oneida Street, Menasha, with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
The family expresses a special thank you to the staffs at Appleton Medical Center, St. Elizabeth Hospital, and Theda Clark for their wonderful care. Further, a very special thank you to Dr. Janine Buffo and her staff for their caring and compassionate care.
A memorial fund in Neil's name is being established.
