Age 61, passed away at his home on Friday, March 22, 2002. Neil was born in Wabeno, Wisconsin on December 5, 1940, son of Herbert Runge, now of Shawano and the late Irene Sexton Runge. He was a 1959 graduate of Clintonville High School, and for nearly twenty years was employed by the former S.C. Shannon Company in Appleton. In his younger years, Neil enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his father: Herbert Runge of Shawano; his sister: Joan (Duane) Fritz of Manitowoc, his niece: Angela (Dane) Pierstorff of Madison; and his two nephews: Jeff (Bonnie) Fritz of Wausau and Tim (Tracy) Fritz of Madison. Neil was preceded in death by his mother, Irene in 1986, and by his wife Ramona (nee Laatsch) in 1972.

A memorial service for Neil will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home chapel with Deacon Pete Reinl officiating. Inurnment will take place at Roselawn Cemetery, near Marion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service. A memorial fund has been established for St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano.
