Nathalie Wunderlich, age 93 of Appleton passed away at the Appleton Medical Center on Monday, September 5, 2016. She was born July 8, 1923, daughter of the late Ervin and Viola (Meltz) Schmit. A 1940 graduate of the Appleton High School, she later married Wally Wunderlich. Wally preceded Nathalie in death in 1997. She was a longtime and faithful member of Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton, where she was a former member of the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild. Nathalie also enjoyed reading, baking chocolate chip cookies for families and friends, and watching television.
She is survived by her five loving children: Dick (Vickie) Wunderlich, Terry (Nancy) Wunderlich, Steve (Cathy) Wunderlich, and Scott (Tina) Wunderlich, all of Appleton; and Bonnie (Matt) Vollmer of Hortonville. Her grandchildren are Penny (Scott) Binley, Brian (Lisa) Wunderlich, Jill (Steve) Peterson, Chad (Carrie) Wunderlich, Matthew (Megan) Wunderlich, Adam Wunderlich, Tami Wunderlich and her special friend Justin McKenzie, Benji (Sabina) Wunderlich, Ryan Wunderlich and his special friend Stefani Jaksic, Tiffany (J.J.) Mooney, and Jesse Vollmer. Nathalie will also be missed by her great-grandchildren: Jake, Alex, and Connor Binley; Jackson, Delaney, and Kinley Peterson; Sam, Charlie, and Hattie Wunderlich; Emma Wunderlich; Finley and Celena Wunderlich; Dylan Wunderlich; Ellie, Abbie, and Preston Wunderlich; and Madison and Brooklyn Mooney. Nathalie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wally, a son Bob, sisters Delores (Paul) Aielo and Dorothy (Dumps) Moder, and her brothers Eugene Schmit and Vernon (Arla) Schmit.
A Christian Memorial service for Nathalie will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 9, 2016 at MOUNT OLIVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 E. Florida Avenue in Appleton, with Rev. Robert Raasch officiating. Interment will take place at a later day at Highland Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
