Age 56, died on Thursday, July 10, 2003 at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center, after a courageous fight with cancer. Nancy was born in Black Creek, Wisconsin on March 15, 1947, daughter of the late Paul and Dorothea (Felton) Glatz. She married Richard Fairchild on July 13, 1972 and he preceded her in death on September 17, 1984. Nancy was employed at Oakridge Gardens for 23 years and made many special friends. She loved spending time with her granddaughter Alexis, and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of another. Nancy was also an avid Elvis and Packer fan. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Wahl and her special companion Scott Tierney and his daughter Lacy; her son, Brian (Jennifer) Fairchild; 3 sisters, Mary Glatz, Joyce (Tom) Radtke and Bertha Dorin; 2 grandchildren, Alexis Wahl and Brandon Hooyman; and Nancy's special companion, Jack Peotter and his family, Bill (Kathy) Peotter and their children, Dillon, Brent, Blake and Camille. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Glatz and her grandson, Shayne Michael Wahl. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, July 14, 2003 at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 912 North Oneida Street, Appleton, with Rev. Larry Matthews officiating. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, July 13 from 4 until 7:00 p.m., and again at the church on Monday from 12 until 12:45 p.m. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kenneth Geller and the staff at Fox Valley Oncology; Dr. Shanti Joseph; the 4th Floor staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Oakridge Gardens for their loving care of Nancy. A memorial fund has been established in Nancy's name.
